There are many methods of contraception available to women in Ireland. It’s important to choose contraception that fits your situation and lifestyle. This course focuses on non LARC types of contraceptive choices for women including combined contraception,progesterone only contraception and emergency contraception. This course was originally developed with the ICGP (2018).

Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC) include the progesterone-releasing systems, copper-containing intrauterine devices, and the sub-dermal implant. Such methods are more reliable that pills and barriers, offer women choices and are more cost effective than the combined pill even at one year of use. Good sexual health means making sure you have the knowledge, skills and ability to make informed sexual choices and acting responsibly to protect your health and the health of others. This includes planning pregnancy and preventing STIs. Some STIs can cause long-term problems. This course takes an extensive look at STI's in Ireland.

Urinary Incontinence is a common complaint in women's health and often goes unreported for long period of time. In this course we review incontinence and the management in women for both stress and urge incontinence. Case studies are included along with the management through expert physiotherapists.
